At Ciastel, sustainability is more than a promise: it is part of our everyday life. As a family-run farm in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites, we feel a deep connection to our home and the natural world around us. That is why we use renewable energy, choose local produce and make thoughtful use of resources.

We generate much of our electricity with our own solar panels. For the rest, we use renewable hydropower supplied by local energy providers. This means 100% of our electricity comes from renewable sources.
Guests can also charge their electric cars conveniently on site.
Solar energy, a heat pump and a modern pellet heating system keep things cosy.
When choosing our ingredients, we value quality, short transport distances and close relationships with producers in our immediate area.
Many of our products come straight from our own farm: fresh eggs, meat from our livestock, and homemade fruit preserves and syrups. Guests can enjoy them at breakfast and in our Osteria.
Our farm is an important part of Ciastel. We are committed to giving our animals the care and living conditions they need, treating them with respect and managing our land responsibly. Our cattle spend the summer months grazing on the lush alpine pastures of the Dolomites.
Making careful use of food matters to us, too. We prepare what we need and do our best to avoid food waste.
We want to preserve the beauty and unspoilt character of our home. That is why we are working, step by step, to make Ciastel more sustainable.
