Real farming. Honest food. Living traditions.
At Ciastel, farming is far more than part of our history – it remains an integral part of our lives today.
For generations, our farm has been closely connected to nature and the farming traditions of Val Badia. As a family-run business, we bring together traditional farming, the hospitality of our historic residence and the cooking of our osteria.
We want to show our guests where their food comes from and give them a genuine glimpse of life on our farm.

At the heart of our farm is our herd of suckler cows. We also have chickens, pigs, cats, a dog and rabbits.
Our cows live alongside their calves and spend the summer months on the wide-open alpine pastures of our mountains. In winter, we care for them here on the farm.
We tend our meadows and fields in tune with the seasons, always treating our animals and the natural world with respect.

Much of the food we serve comes straight from our own farm, including beef from our herd, fresh eggs, and potatoes and vegetables grown here.
We also lovingly make a variety of fruit preserves and fragrant syrups from fruit, herbs and flowers.
Homemade food is just as important to us at breakfast: our guests can enjoy freshly baked bread, fruit preserves, juices and a selection of homemade sweet treats.

Whenever possible, what we grow and produce on the farm goes straight to our kitchen.
In our osteria, we pair our own produce with carefully chosen ingredients from local producers. The result is food inspired by South Tyrolean and Ladin cuisine, the seasons and the place we call home.
From the farm to the kitchen. From the kitchen to your plate.

Our guests are warmly invited to discover what life on a working farm is really like.
Visit our animals in the barn, watch us feed them or, by prior arrangement, lend a hand with selected farm tasks.
We also offer personalised farm tours on request, introducing you to our animals, our way of farming and daily life here.
Children are very welcome to explore the farm with their parents. As this is a working farm, all activities must be arranged with us in advance. We do not offer a separate childcare service.
What makes Ciastel special is the blend of tradition and modern comfort, of everyday farm life and genuine hospitality.
Whether you come to enjoy the peace of the Dolomites, taste our farm produce or discover life on the farm, we look forward to sharing a little of our home with you.
Ciastel – where farming is more than a tradition: it’s a way of life.
